Sale digital Halo comics

Dark Horse Comics is having a sale on all their digital Halo comics! And we're talking sales up to 75%. It includes bundled volumes, single comics and even the artbook of Halo Infinite. I just checked it out myself, but the bundled volumes aren't always a better deal than the respective singles issues together. I will list all the books that are on sale in this post and whether it's a better deal to buy the bundled volume(s) or the single issues. Keep in mind though, I have not been able to find until when this sale will last. So grab them while you can!

Halo Omnibus Volumes 1 & 2

Showcasing chapters written by Halo 5: Guardians lead writer Brian Reed and Halo 4 senior writer Chris Schlerf, this convenient edition collects Halo: Initiation #1-#3 and Halo: Escalation #1-#24, and features a complete cover gallery and process pages.

Each volume is $7.50 (originally $14.99), so if you buy them together it'll cost $15.00. The single comics cost $1.00 (originally $3.99) each, so if you add all of those together, you'll end up with $27.00 dollars. That makes the bundled volumes a significantly better deal.

Halo: Initiation

Before she was a supersolider defending humanity as part of the Spartan-IV program, Sarah Palmer was an ODST—Orbital Drop Shock Trooper—carrying out the most dangerous missions behind enemy lines!

Join her on her dramatic journey from the ranks of humanity’s toughest leathernecks to the highest echelon of elite warriors in the galaxy. Collects the three-issue miniseries.

Even though this series is also bundled in the Halo Omnibus Volumes, Halo: Initiation is also available as a separate bundle for $4.50 (originally $14.99). But the series only consists of 3 single comics which are currently $1.00 a piece. I'm not sure if the bundle contains any extra's, but since it's $1.50 more than the 3 singles, there is no real reason to buy the bundle since it's all digital.

Halo: Escalation

Halo: Escalation is the longest series of the Halo comics. There are a whopping 24 single issues, which are also bundled in 4 separate volumes. Story wise it plays between the games Halo 4 and 5 where you follow Captain Thomas Lasky and Spartan Commander Sarah Palmer on the UNSC Infinity. The pricing of the bundles is a bit weird though. Each bundle consists of 6 issues. But the first 3 are $5.50 each whereas the 4th volume is $6.50. Not sure what justifies the lower discount, since all four volumes are originally $19.99 each. And compared to the single issues of $1.00 each. The difference for the complete series between the 4 bundles ($23.00) and the 24 single issues ($24.00) is only $1.00.

Still, if you're interested in this story, you're way better off buying the Halo Omnibus volumes 1 and 2 for a total of $15.00. Which also includes the complete Halo: Initiation series.

Halo: Fall of Reach

This is basically a must read for any Halo fan. I read the novel years ago and as long as it follows the same story, it's a good read.

In the year 2517, humanity’s last hope is with Dr. Catherine Halsey, the SPARTAN-II program, and one six-year-old boy: John-117. Kidnapped and ruthlessly trained, John endures and rises as the leader of the Spartans: he becomes the Master Chief! These legendary heroes are entrusted with stopping the Covenant at all costs…but will their harrowing biological augmentation and unparalleled MJOLNIR armor be enough to rise to victory?

This series is split up in 3 separate arcs called BootcampCovenant and Invasion respectively. It consists of 12 single issues and as a single bundle. The bundle is currently $8.50, whereas the single issues are $12.00 together. So it's kind of a no brainer, right?

Halo: Rise of Atriox

An anthology based on Halo Wars 2, the real–time strategy video game from 343 Industries, which features the new ruthless villain in the Halo franchise, Atriox.

The story of Atriox, his rise to power, his contempt for the Covenant and the formation of the Banished is told across this five-chapter anthology featuring characters and stories from Halo Wars 2. This five-chapter anthology collects stories by acclaimed comics creators Cullen Bunn, Jody Houser, John Jackson Miller, Alex Irvine, Eric Nguyen, Josan Gonzalez, Jonathan Wayshak, and Tristan Jones.

Each chapter is of course a single issue of $1.00 each. So $5.00 altogether. The bundle though, is $6.00. Take your pick.

Halo: Collateral Damage

The Master Chief and Blue Team are deployed by the UNSC to Alpha Corvi II, a precarious human colony world, seeking to halt the Covenant's efforts to uncover something hidden below the planet's surface. The Spartan strike team quickly finds out that they will have to rely on eachother and a small cadre of human rebels in order to survive and complete their mission.

This series consists of 3 single issues and a bundle where all 3 are, well, bundled. The bundle is $4.50 and the single issues are, again, $1.00 a piece. So $3.00 altogether.

Halo: Lone Wolf

Sent on a covert mission without the rest of her team, Spartan Linda-058's skills in infiltration and marksmanship are called upon to end the threat posed by a wanted scientist on a distant planet. With only an ONI AI at her side, Linda must fight through both the dregs of the Covenant and the hostility of a lost human settlement to stop the rogue scientist in his tracks.

This is the last Halo comic that consists of multiple issues, 4 in total. Which are also bundled in a single volume. The issues are $1.00 a pop, making it $4.00 total for the complete series. And the bundle is $6.00.

Halo: Legacy Collection

This book is a collection of 3 different stories within the Halo universe. Halo: Uprising follows the Master Chief as he single-handedly takes on the Covenant's miles-long Forerunner Dreadnought as it makes its way to Earth! Then, join the ranks of the UNSC's meanest, most battle-hardened Marines in Helljumper, as a group of ODST respond to a remote science colony's SOS call and discover an enormous Covenant military presence! Finally, a UNSC ship encounters a strange phenomenon that sends it plummeting toward an unknown planet. The Spartan Black fireteam needs to unlock the secrets of an ancient Forerunner installation if they're going to survive the experience but, to complicate matters, they're not the only ones shipwrecked.

The book costs $9.00.

Halo: Tales from Slipspace

This is also a collection of stories that take place in the Halo universe from some of the comic industry’s best—Jonathan Wayshak, Eric Nguyen, Alex Irvine, Vasilis Lolos, Kody Chamberlain, Dave Crosland, John Jackson Miller, Jonathan Goff, Simon Roy, and Halo: Escalation writer Duffy Boudreau—as well as 343 Industries’ own franchise development director, Frank O’Connor, and franchise producer, Tyler Jeffers.

The bundle is priced at $6.00

Halo Graphic Novel

I believe this was the first Halo graphic novel ever released. It contains 4 different Halo stories that expand the deep lore of the Halo universe told by some of the finest creators in comic-book history. Artist Simon Bisley and writer Lee Hammock give us the central tale titled ''The Last Voyage of the Infinite Succor.'' Award-winning mangaka Tsutomu Nihei writes and draws a tale of Sgt. Johnson's epic escape in ''Breaking Quarantine.'' Ed Lee, Andrew Robinson, and Jay Faerber team up on a story of technology in the 26th century with ''Armor Testing.'' Finally, Brett Lewis and the world-renowned artist Jean ''Moebius'' Giraud round out this one-of-a-kind Halo experience with a story that showcases humanity's plight against the Covenant from a unique civilian perspective in ''Second Sunrise Over New Mombasa.''

I own the hardcopy and I can definitely recommend this one! Especially since it's now priced at only $6.00.

The Art of Halo Infinite

And last but definitely not least, the latest artbook is also on sale!

The legendary super soldier returns in Halo Infinite. 343 Industries and Microsoft are building the biggest and most visually spectacular Halo yet. Halo Infinite debuts on the Xbox family of consoles, including Xbox Series X, Microsoft's latest and most powerful game console. To take full advantage of its prodigious graphical prowess, 343 Industries built an all-new, next-generation game engine, giving their world-class artists the tools and technology to realize the worlds, war, and wonder of the Halo universe in unprecedented style and fidelity. 343 Industries have given Dark Horse access to the art and artists who've brought Halo Infinite to vibrant, vivid life. It's all here in unparalleled detail, the heroes you've grown to love—the Master Chief, the brave soldiers of the UNSC, as well as the weapons, vehicles, villains and vistas—and of course, the eponymous and magnificent environments of Halo itself.

The Art of Halo Infinite also features a brand-new cover from legendary concept artist and Halo Infinite's Art Director, Sparth!

The digital version at Dark Horse Comics is now only $12.00! But we also sell the hardcopy version from our own store for $35.14 excluding shipping.
